North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North
Carolina:  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of
employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm
to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard of
approximately 15 feet to the
ground below:
a)jobsite, an employee was observed standing on the mid-rail of a JLG
scissor lift
installing tar paper sheeting.  Among other methods, one feasible and
acceptable
abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that employees only
stand
on the work platform and not climb on the mid-rail or top-rail unless
adequate
fall
protection is provided.
