North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: crushing/amputation [Ref: American National Standard (ASME B30.16-1993) para. 16 - 1.2.9] a)facility, OREP #3 Filter N/S , Recycle area - a 1 1/2 ton and a 1 ton underhung hoist serial # K151144 and NERIA5361 was being used with a bent throat latch. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to conduct annual inspections of the hoist as well as visual inspections before each use and repair deficiencies when they are discovered.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to conduct annual inspections of the hoist as well as visual inspections before each use and repair deficiencies when they are discovered.
