Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) On or about October 31, 2007, first floor level of the new school building, the vertical protruding plastic electrical conduit, held in place by a short piece of 1/2 metal conduit, was not protected or covered in order to remove the impalement hazard. One suitable means of abatement is to cover the conduit with lumber. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
