Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Right Rear Bay Door, Shoreline Transportation, 703 C Ruskin Road, Forest Park, Ga 30297: Four of the rollers on the manual overhead bay door were damaged and in need of repair, therefore, exposing employees to a crushing hazard while standing or walking under the bay door. Among other method, one feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to: 1. Perform routine maintenance inspections of rollers, cables and other hardware components to ensure they are in good working order. 2. Conduct daily visual inspections of springs, cables, rollers, pulleys and other door hardware for signs of wear. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
