Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: crushing hazards. (a) Throughout the facility - The powdered industrial trucks used for transporting of goods and materials were not equipped with safety belts. Therefore, exposing employees to crushing injuries. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to have the forklifts retro-fitted for seatbelts and enforce the wearing of the seatbelts when forklifts are being used. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
