that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to

employees were exposed to a crushing hazard:
a)While operating a zero turn riding lawn mower, at Garfunkel Companies
property
located at 450 Mall Blvd, Savannah Georgia, on or about June 26, 2009, an
employee was observed operating a Toro, Zero Turn riding lawnmower not
using
the roll over protection system (ROPS), which exposed the employee to being
thrown, ejected and crushed.
b)While operating a zero turn riding lawn mower, at Garfunkel Companies
property
located at 450 Mall Blvd, Savannah Georgia, on or about June 26, 2009, an
employee was observed operating a Toro, Zero Turn, riding lawnmower and was
not wearing his seatbelt, which exposed the employee to being thrown,
ejected
and crushed.
ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to
ensure the operator
follow the manufacturer's safe operating procedures, which instruct the
operator "to avoid injury
or death from rollover: keep the roll bar in the raised locked position
and use the seat belt."on
