P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of: a)At the job site - on or about March 31, 2010, three of the four safety interlock devices on the TE SAB machine were not operational preventing employees from the ability to shut down the equipment in the event of an emergency, exposing employees to struck-by, caught-in, and amputation hazards. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: 1.Repair the emergency stop switches and pull cords. 2.Implement an inspection program to inspect the emergency stop switches on a periodic basis to ensure their proper function. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED.TION
