Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/06/07 Condition:Employees utilized a JLG aerial lift as a crane when they rigged hooks, chains, and a nylon strap to the basket and boom to remove and removed a light pole, a method of use which could cause structural damage and tipping of the lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to prohibit the use of an aerial lift to lift or carry materials. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
