Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls from trailer platforms: On 18 May 2007, and at other times prior thereto, employees were permitted to work on tractor and trailer beds to load and unload various types of merchandise and goods for transport to other locations. The employees were not provided with a means to prevent falls from the trailer beds while standing, walking, and working on the trailer beds. Amongst other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to provide portable platform stands when the employees are required to work on the trailer beds.er
