Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:05/30/07 Location:Science Laboratory Condition:The eyewash that was provided was cluttered and the water pressure was below the ANSI regulation of 30 pounds per square inch or 1.5 Liters per minute of flushing fluid for 15 minutes. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to keep clutter from the eyewash station and to increase the water pressure. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
