Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the Institucion Ortiz Medical, Inc., employees cleaned the facilities,
prepared the
food, washed the clothes and assisted the residents in their personal
hygiene.  The
employer did not provide training about the protocol of workplace domestic
violence to
all the employees, as required by the Act No. 217 of the year 2006, for the
Implementation of a Protocol to Handle Domestic Violence Situations in
Workplaces or
Employment.
Hazard: Exposition to situations of domestic violence in the workplace.
Method to abate the hazard: The employer shall provide to all the
employees training
related to a written protocol to handle domestic violence in the
workplace.  There is
information available in the Woman's Advocate Office and other references
provided
during the inspection.
En la Institucion Ortiz Medical, Inc. empleados limpiaban las facilidades,
preparaban los
alimentos, lavaban la ropa y ayudaban a los residentes en su higiene
personal.  El
patrono no proveyo adiestramiento sobre el protocolo de violencia
domestica en el lugar
de trabajo a todos los empleados, como lo requiere la Ley Num. 217 del ano
2006, para
la Implantacion del Protocolo para Manejar Situaciones de Violencia
Domestica
en
Lugares de Trabajo o Empleo.
Riesgo: Exposicion a situaciones de violencia domestica en el lugar de
trabajo.
Metodo de corregir el riesgo: El patrono tiene que proveer adiestramiento
a todos los
empleados relacionado al protocolo escrito para manejar la violencia
domestica en el
lugar de trabajo.  Hay informacion disponible en la Oficina de la
Procuradora de la
Mujer y otras referencias provistas durante la inspeccion.
