Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At Jacinto Lopez Martinez school, located in Dorado, parts of the first
and second floor
ceiling of the old building were detaching and falling to the floor. The
teachers were
walking to and from their classrooms where they taught, graded exams,
tented to students
and parents, among other educational jobs.
Hazard: Blows to the head due to falling concrete from the ceiling.
Among other correction methods, a feasible and acceptable one would be to
repair the
ceiling structure.
En la escuela Jacinto Lopez Martinez, localizada en el pueblo de Dorado,
partes del
techo de los pasillos del primer y segundo piso del antiguo edificio se
estaba
desprendiendo y cayendo al suelo. Los maestros caminaban hacia y desde sus
salones en
donde ensenaban, corregian examenes, atendian a estudiantes y padres,
entreo otros
trabajos de docencia.
Riesgo: Golpes en la cabeza por hormigon que cae del techo.
Entre otros metodos de correccion uno factible y aceptable para corregir
este riesgo seria
reparar la estructura del techo.tura

The Department of Education, Jacinto Lopez Martinez School, did not have a
written
protocol to handle domestic violence in the workplace, as required by the
Act for the
Implemantation of a Protocol to Handle a Domestic Violence Situations in
the Workplace
or Place of Employment, Act No. 217 of 2006.
Hazard: Fatalities, injuries, and ilnesses related to domestic violence in
the workplace.
Method to abate the hazard: Develop a written protocol to handle domestic
violence in
the workplace and provide training to all the employees. Information is
avaliable at the
Woman's Avocadate Office.
El Departamento de Educacion, Escuela Jacinto Lopez Martinez, no tenia un
protocolo
escrito para el manejo de  violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo,
como requerido por
la Ley para la Implementacion de un Protocolo para el Manejo de
Situaciones de
Violencia Domestica en el Lugar de Trabajo o Lugar de Empleo, Ley numero
217 de
2006.
Riesgo: Fatalidades, lesiones, y enfermedades relacionadas a la violencia
domestica en
el trabajo.
Metodo para corregir este riesgo: Desarrollar un protocolo escrito para
manejar
situaciones de violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo y proveer
adiestramiento a todos
