Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the Departamento de Correccion y Rehabilitacion', employees performed office works, such as: documents redaction, computer use, answer calls, among others. The employer did not provide training to the employees about the protocol to handle domestic violence situations in the workplace, as required by the Act No. 217 of 2006 for the Implementation of a Protocol to Handle Domestic Violence Situations in the Workplace or Employment. Hazard: Exposition to domestic violence situations in the workplace. Method to abate hazard: Provide training to all the employees related to the written protocol to handle domestic violence situations in the workplace. Information and guides for the development of the work plan for the implementation of the protocol are available at the Women's Advocate Office and were provided during the inspection. En el Departamento de Correccion y Rehabilitacion, empleados realizaban trabajos de oficina, tales como: redaccion de documentos, uso de computadora, contestar llamadas, entre otros. El patrono no proveyo adiestramiento a los empleados sobre el protocolo para manejar situaciones de violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo, como lo requiere la Ley Num. 217 de 2006 para la Implantacion de un Protocolo para el Manejo de Situaciones de Violencia Domestica en los Lugares de Trabajo o Empleo. Riesgo: Exposicion a situaciones de violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo. Metodo de corregir el riesgo: Proveer adiestramiento a todos los empleados relacionado al protocolo escrito para manejar situaciones de violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo. Informacion y guias para el desarrollo del plan de trabajo para la implantacion del protocolo estan disponibles en la Oficina de la Procuradora de las Mujeres y fueron provista durante la inspeccion.
