Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the Madame Lucchetti school located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The
Education
Department failed to provide training to employees on lifting and handling
heavy objects.
It was documented that employees had been injured when they moved the
table with
meassurements 71 inches long, 2 feet wide and 3 feet high and weighted 190
pounds,
made of in stainless steel. They moved the table about three feet away for
cleaning.
Hazard: Back pain.
En la escuela Madame Lucchetti localizada en San Juan, Puerto Rico. El
Departamento
de Educacion fallo al no proveer adiestramiento a empleados sobre
levantamiento y
manejo de objetos pesados. Se documento que empleados se habian lesionado
cuando
movieron una mesa con unas medidas de 71 pulgadas de largo, 2 pies de
ancho y 3 pies
de alto y un peso de mas de 190 libras fabricada de acero inoxidable.
Ellos movieron la
mesa a una distancia aproximadamente tres pies para limpiarla.
Riesgo: Dolores de espalda.

inspection.
Method to abate the hazard: Develop a written protocol to handle domestic
violence in
the workplace and provide training to all employees. Information is

Hazard: Fatalities, injuries, and illnesses related to domestic violence
in the workplace.
En Escuela Superior Madame Lucchetti, los empleados estaban expuestos a
fatalidades,
lesiones y enfermedades debido a que el patrono no tenia un protocolo
escrito para
manejar situaciones de violencia domestica en el sitio de trabajo, como lo
requiere la Ley
para la implementacion del Protocolo de Violencia Domestica en el sitio de
Trabajo, Ley
num. 217 del 2006.
Metodo para corregir el riesgo: Desarrollar un protocolo escrito para el
manejo de la
violencia domestica en el sitio de trabajo y proveer adiestramiento a
todos los empleados.
