Section 5a1 of the Occupational safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to hazards while working at elevated heights to retrieve products from storage racks. Storage Area: The employee(s) were elevated approximately 15 feet without fall protection on a wooden pallet attached to a powered industrial truck to retrieve products from storage racks. A feasible abatement method is to follow the American Society of Mechanical Engineers standard ASME B56.1-2004, Safety for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks, Section 4.17 Elevating Personnel, as applicable. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).s
