Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of: (a) On or about Febuary 28, 2008, employees were working in two scissor lifts and were standing on the handrails while being tied off to the same handrails exposing themselves to a 25 foot fall hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with ANSI/SIA A92.6 1990, paragraph 7.11.1, Personal Footing. Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon.
