Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of: a) Employee operating the Ford articulating aerial device (bucket truck) Model AA755, Serial Number 0195BT227, was exposed to a fall hazard from potential boom failure due to the lack of proper maintenance, inspections and a hydraulic leak. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to have the employees trained to maintain the vehicle according to the manufacturers' specifications and ANSI A92.2-1969.
