Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized
hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)Tripping and falling hazards causing severes contusions, lacerations,
abrasions,
dizziness and death in case of structural collapse.
Employees were working daily and continually as auxiliar collectorships on
a
building which have so many cracks on the floor, walls, columns causing a
serious problem on the floor.  The PR emergency manage office performed a
complete inspection of the work area and they recomended an evaluation of
the
affected area by a structural engineer and a soil study in such a manner
that can
be demonstrate if the structure is secure for the use of employees.
Location:  Aguada goverment center building, "Departamento de Hacienda,
oficina de Rentas Internas".
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard
is remove all of the employees that works in such area until an structural
engineer
can perform a complete evaluation of the building and a soil test around
of it to
demonstrate if the structure is secure for the employees.
a)Riesgos de tropiezo y caidas ocasionando contusiones severas,
laceraciones,
abrasiones, mareos y muerte en caso de colapso estructural.
Empleados estuvieron trabajando diaria y continuamente como colectores
auxiliares en un edificio el cual tiene muchas grietas en el piso, paredes,
columnas y vigas ocasionando un problema serio de desnivel en el piso.  La
oficina de manejo de emergencias realizo una inspeccion completa del area
de
trabajo y recomendo una evaluacion de dicho edificio por un ingeniero
estructural
y de un analisis de suelo de manera tal que se pueda demostrar si la
estructura es
segura para el uso de los empleados.
Localizacion:  Centro gubernamental de Aguada, "Departamento de Hacienda,
oficina de Rentas Internas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
remover todos los empleados que trabajan en dicha area hasta tanto un
ingeniero
estructural pueda realizar una evaluacion completa del edificio y un
analisis desuelo alrededor de este para demostrar si la estructura es
segura para los
empleados."
