Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer
did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)electrical shock hazards and slips - posed by accumulation of water from
roof
leaks in Aurora Mendez Charneco school. Rain water from roof leaks was
accumulating over floors and entering into ceiling lamps, into wall
electrical
receptacles and into air conditioning controls. Water was leaking by roof
and
walls in the following areas: Directors Secretary office, Social Worker
office,
library, students lunch room, physical education rooms, rooms AA-28, AA-29,
AA-30, AA-33, AA-36, AA-38, AA-39, AA-43, AA-45, AA-47, and AA-59.
AEP is owner of the school facility and responsible for the building
maintenance.
AEP had knowledge of the condition of the roof since year 2007.
"AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE
ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO REPAIR THE
ROOF AND WALLS"
a)descargas electricas y resbalones - causada por acumulacion de agua de
filtraciones en el techo de la escuela Aurora Mendez Charneco. Agua de
lluvia
de las filtraciones de techo se estaba acumulando sobre pisos y estaba
entrando
en lamparas de techo, en receptaculos electricos de pared y en controles de
acondicionadores de aire. El agua filtraba por techos y paredes en las
siguientes
areas: oficina de Secretaria del Director, oficina de Trabajadora Social,
Biblioteca, Salon Comedor, salones de educacion fisica, salones AA-28,
AA-29,
AA-30, AA-33, AA-36, AA-38, AA-39, AA-43, AA-45, AA-47 y AA-59. AEP
es dueno de las facilidades de la escuela y responsable del mantenimiento
de las
facilidades fisicas. AEP tenia conocimiento de la condicion del techo
desde el ano
2007.

Y APROPIADO PARA CORREGIR ESTE RIESGO ES REPARAR EL TECHO
Y LAS PAREDES"
