Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)At the modules areas in the "Planta de Filtros  Jobos", the lighting
system was
not functioning. The employees have to go up to the module to take water
samples using the reflection of the lighting system of the parking lot. In
the area,
the lighting was measured obtaining 0.1 footcandle. The ANSI/ES RP-7-1991,
establish that the lighting quantity to perform outside work have to be at
least 1.0
footcandles.
Hazard: tripping and falls.
Among other correction method, one feasible and acceptable method is:
repair the
lighting system.
a)En el area de los modulos de la Planta de Filtros Jobos, el sistema de
alumbrado
no funcionaba. Los empleados tenian que subir a los modulos a tomar
muestras
de agua utilizando el reflejo de la luz del estacionamiento. Las medidas
de luz
obtenidas en el area de los modulos fue de 0.1 pies por bujias. Segun el
ANSI/ES
RP-7-1991 establece que la cantidad de luz  para trabajos en el exterior
deber ser
de 1.0 pies por bujias.
Riesgo: tropezones y caidas.
Entre otros metodos de correccion, un metodo factible y aceptable para
corregir
esta condicion es: corregir el sistema de alumbrado de los modulos."
