Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: tripping and falls. Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: tropezones y caidas. a)At the wagon area, the employees scan packages and distribute it by areas. The illumination in the area was of 1.3 footcandles. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: follow the ANSI/IESNA RP-7-01 that establish that the lighting quantity to perform this type of work have to be at least 20 footcandles. a)En el area del vagon, los empleados revisaban los paquetes y los distribuian por areas. La iluminacion en el area era de 1.3 pies por bujias. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es: seguir el ANSI/IESNA RP-7-01 que establece que la cantidad de luz minima para realizar estos trabajos deber ser de al menos 20 pies por bujias."
