Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards while using scissors lifts: (a)Employees were exposed to fall hazards while transferring transmissions into storage racks and the employer did not ensure that the Terex and Snorkel scissor lifts being used had a midrail on the ends of the working platform. A feasible means of abatement includes, but is not limited to, comply with ANSI A92.6, Section 4.12.2.2 and ensure that the work platform includes a guardrail system. No certification required. Violation Abated.on
