Condition:Roof trusses were not properly braced in the top cord, web
member,
and bottom cord
planes. Short pieces of lumber, "spacers" were used between on top of
adjacent trusses
to tie them together which is not permitted.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to comply with the
manufacturer's recommendations on how to properly brace roof trusses or to
follow the Truss Plate Institute's
BCSI 1-03 summary sheet.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training certification, etc.)
is required for this item.
