General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard from vehicular traffic: a) I-75 and Slater Road - Employees moved slow-moving equipment (aerial lifts) across the active lanes of I-75, exposing the employees to high-speed on-coming traffic, on or about 10/27/07. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to develop and implement a procedure to assure that employees driving slow moving vehicles across active lanes of a highway are not exposed to a struck-by hazard from on-coming traffic.
