Condition:Employees were exposed to dust explosion, deflagration, and
other fire
hazards from the CNC machines dust collection systems located inside the
nomex room.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to abate this
hazard is to relocate the
dust collection systems outside the building. Perform a process hazard
analysis and assessment
on the machining/shaping/forming of nomex products and the dust collection
systems.
Certification verifying the design, installation, operation and
maintenance of nomex
explosive/combustible dust collection system met all applicable standards
including, but not
limited to NFPA 654.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
