Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: a) The Delventhal Company on or about 02/20/08, at the address of 10401 Avenue Rd. Perrysburg, OH: The employer did not ensure sufficient and correctly installed temporary bracing was applied to the 76'-11" scissor trusses erected onsite, exposing employees to struck-by hazards. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to follow temporary bracing instruction from the manufacture, temporary bracing instruction of a registered professional engineer or the temporary bracing instruction outlined in the Wood Truss Council of America's Truss Installation & Temporary Bracing. No additional abatement information is needed for this item.
