North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing/struck by injuries from a falling load. a)401 Capital Blvd-on or about 02/26/08 an accident occurred which resulted in the death of an employee that was engaged in repairing a jack supported vehicle, Ford E-450 ambulance with a gross weight of 14,000 lbs., that was not prevented from moving forward by the use of wheel chocks. (re: data/warning placard fastened to a GRAY TNT 550 Truck and Trailer Air Lift jack) One method of abatement is to follow safe work practices as indicated on the equipment and install wheel chocks as required by the manufacturer of the jack.acturer

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries due to a falling load: a)401 Capital Blvd-employees were not provided training on equipment used to service and maintain the county's vehicles as required by the warning paragraph in the operating instructions for the GRAY TNT-550 Truck and Trailer Air Lift jack. One method of abatement is to instruct all employees of safe work practices connected with using the jack as depicted on the warning labels affixed to the device and the operators manual.rs
