Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries while operating the trucks with out without wearing seat belts: (a)Corner of Wilson Court & Ferguson Streets: The operator of the red Ford flat bed truck and the operator of the white Ford F 700 dump truck did not utilize the seat belts as determined on 6-7-10. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure all trucks and earth moving equipment have operable seat belts and to train employees and effectively enforce the use of seat belts. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM-
