Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or about 12/10/07 Location:Mechanic Department Condition:A plumbed eye wash station was not operable and was not accessible. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to clean the eye wash on a regular basis to ensure fittings do not become clogged with debris and to perform regular maintenance checks. Also to ensure that the area in front of the eyewash is not used for storage.
