Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious harm to employee in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries: Warehouse: The Mitsubishi forklift was not provided with a seat belt. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to: Install a seat belt retro-fit package and require that the seat belt be worn when the truck is operated. Specific abatement documentation is required.
