Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazard: a.On or about January 20, 2009, employees attempting to rig a semi-tractor for towing did not properly chock the tires, exposing themselves to the hazard of being crushed by the truck. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to ensure that wheel chocks are in place properly before an employee crawls under a vehicle. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED.TION
