were exposed to being caught by rotating machine parts:
a) In the basement near the boiler room:
On or about March 26, 2008
Employees who performed pipe threading were exposed to
contacting and being caught by the rotating parts of a Ridgid
Model 300 Pipe Threading Machine which was provided with a
momentary contact foot switch which had the cover missing.
Abatement Note Among others, a feasible and useful method to eliminate or
to materially reduce
this hazard would be to repair or replace the defective momentary contact
foot switch.
NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION
FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
