Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/12/08 Location:Main Service Area Condition:A 1-inch, schedule 40, polyvinyl chloride pipe was used to convey compressed air at 120 pounds per square inch to various work stations throughout the shop area. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard are to encapsulate the PVC pipe in shatter resistant material or to replace the PVC pipe with pipe approved to convey compressed air. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
