Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck by vehicular traffic: a/ At the job site, employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of being struck by vehicular traffic due to the employer's failure to place traffic control signs along the north and south bound lanes of Allen Street. Employee(s) were operating a Genie Boom 4 X 4, TB6510, Aerial Lift, and blocking the northbound lane. One method of abatement to correct this apparent hazard is to post suitable traffic control signs as required by Part VI, Section 6C.03, of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Millennium Edition, December 2000. DISCLAIMER: a) The employer is not limited to the abatement method(s) suggested by OSHA. b) The employer is responsible for selecting and implementing an effective abatement method.
