Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:07/07/08 Location:Kennel Areas Condition:Employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals while cleaning and disinfecting dog runs. (b)Date of Violation:07/07/08 Location:Main Shelter Condition:Employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals in dog runs and cat crates while cleaning and disinfecting. (c)Date of Violation:07/07/08 Location:Clinic Condition:Employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals when manually transferring concentrate Bleach into portable spray bottles. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard, have an eyewash that provides at least 15 minutes of continuous flow that complies with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment."
