Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Employees of C & Principe Electrical Contractor Inc. were exposed to
domestic violence
in the workplace, to expose to due illnesses, injuries and fatalities. The
employer did not
have written protocol to  domestic violence as required by the Act for the
Implementation
of a Protocol to Handle Domestic Violence Situation in the Workplace or
Place of
Employment Act  No. 217 of september 29, 2006, and Act No. 16 of August 5,
1975,
as amended.
Hazard: Injuries, illnesses, physical harm, fatalities and death related
to domestic
violence in the workplace.
One method to abate the hazard:Develop a written protocol to handle
domestic violence
in the workplace and provide training to all the employees, for have
knowledge  and act
if this situation is presented.The Women's Advocate Office will provide to
the employer
the necessary technical guidance  for implementation of the protocol.
Empleados de C & Principe Electrical Contractor Inc., estaban expuestos a
la violencia
domestica en el lugar de trabajo, exponiendose a riesgos de lesiones,
enfermedad y
fatalidades. El patrono no tenia un protocolo escrito de violencia
domestica en el lugar
de trabajo, requerido bajo la Ley para la Implementacion del Protocolo de
Situaciones
de Violencia Domestica en el Lugar de Trabajo o Sitio de Empleo, Ley
numero 217 del
29 de septiembre de 2006, y la Ley numero 16 del 5 de agosto de 1975 segun
enmendada.
Riesgo:Lesiones,enfermedades,dano fisico, fatalidades y muerte relacionado
a la violencia
en el lugar de trabajo.
Un metodo para disminuir el riesgo: Desarrollar un protocolo escrito de
violencia
domestica en el lugar de trabajo y proveer adiestramiento a todos los
empleados, para
que tengan conocimiento y actuen en caso de que se presente esta
situacion. La Oficina
de la Procuradora de la Mujer provee al patrono las guias necesarias para
la
implementacion del protocolo.
