Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: Employees were exposed to cuts and fractures from motors, tools or other equipment that could fall to their feet at the Posadas de San Juan Associates dba El San Juan Hotel & Casino, located in 6961 Avenue of the Governors, Isla Verde Carolina, Puerto Rico. It was documented through the inspection process that the employees repairing and replacing heavy equipment such and not limited to motors, iron pipes, wood beds as a part of their jobs. The employer did not provide to the employees foot protection required for these tasks. Among other, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this situation is provide the safety shoes without any cost to any employee exposed to those potential hazards. The employer shall base the selection of the appropriate foot protection on an evaluation on the performance characteristics of the foot protection relative to the task to be performed and the potential hazards identified (protection against foot injuries due heavy equipment and electrical hazard). Hazard: Heavy equipment could fall over unprotected feet and electric shock Empleados estaban expuestos a cortaduras y fracturas por motores, herramientas y otros equipos que pudieran caer en sus pies en Posadas de San Juan Associates dba El San Juan Hotel & Casino, localizado en 6961 Avenida Los Governadores en Isla Verde Carolina, Puerto Rico. Se documento durante el proceso de inspeccion, que los empleados realizaban tareas como reparacion y reemplazo de equipos pesados tales como y no limitados a: motores tuberia de hierro, caias de madera como parte de su trabajo. El patrono no proveyo proteccion de los pies requerido para estas tareas. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible para corregir esta situacion es proveer calzado de seguridad sin costo para todo empleado expuesto a riesgos potenciales. El patrono debera basar la seleccion apropiada de proteccion a los pies en una evaluacion de las caracteristicas de funcionamiento de la proteccion del pie concerniente a las tareas a ser realizadas y los riesgos potenciales identificados (proteger los pies contra lesiones debido a equipo pesado y riesgo electrico). Riesgo: Equipo pesado puede caer sobre pies sin proteccion y choques electricos.

Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: Employees were exposed to burns or physical injuries in the eventuality of air compressor failed. At the machine room of Posadas de San Juan Associates dba El San Juan Hotel & Casino was observed air compressor (trademark Porte Cable, model CPL 6025, serial # 240400935, 135 psi, 120 volts, 15 amp) without plastic cover on the regulator pressure. The air compressor was connected to a pipeline at the mechanic room and the pipeline run through the walls toward the workshop where the employees connected equipment such horses and pneumatic tools for perform theirs task such as and not limited to: equipment reparation. Among other, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this situation is providing the plastic cover for the regulator pressure. Hazard: Employees were exposed to lack of knowledge of adequate pressure in the air compressor. Empleados estaban expuestos a quemaduras y lesiones fisicas en la eventualidad del compresor de aire fallar. En el cuarto de maquinas de Posadas de San Juan Associates dba El San Juan Hotel & Casino se observo un compresor de aire (marca Porte Cable, modelo CPL 6025, serie # 240400935, 135 psi, 120 voltios, 15 amp) sin la tapa plastica en el regulador de presion. El compresor de aire fue conectado a una tuberia de linea en el cuarto mecanico y la tuberia de linea corria atraves de las paredes hacia el taller donde los empleados conectaban equipos como mangueras y herramientas neumaticas para realizar sus tareas tales como y no limitadas a reparacion de equipos. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible para corregir esta situacion es proveer la tapa plastica para el regulador de presion. Riesgo: Empleados estaban expuestos al desconocimiento de la presion adecuada en el compresor de aire.

Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: Employees were exposed to fracture by trips and falls at the principal kitchen of Posadas de San Juan Associates dba El San Juan Hotel & Casino. At the floor of principal kitchen was observed water drainage uneven with depth of two inches where the employees had to walk from a side to another one by the kitchen area to perform their tasks of food preparation in all their shift work. Among other, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this situation is even the water drainage to the floor surface. Hazard: Employees were exposed to trips and falls. Empleados estaban expuestos a fracturas por tropiezos y caidas en la cocina principal de Posadas de San Juan Associates dba El San Juan Hotel & Casino. En el piso de la cocina principal se observo un desague de agua desnivelado con una profundidad de 2 pulgadas donde los empleados tenian que caminar de un lado a otro por el area de la cocina para realizar sus tareas de preparacion de alimentos durante todo su turno de trabajo. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible para corregir esta situacion es nivelar el drenaje de agua al nivel del suelo. Riesgo: Empleados estaban expuestos a tropiezos y caidas.
