General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a) 701 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Employee was elevated approximately 10 feet from ground level while working from the bucket of John Deere 325 Skid Steer used as an elevated work platform with no fall protection system in place. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD AMONG OTHER MEANS WOULD BE TO USE AN AERIAL LIFT DESIGNED AS A MAN LIFT WITH THE APPROPRIATE SAFETY PROVISIONS. IN ADDITION, ENFORCE AND USE PERSONAL FALL PROTECTION DURING THIS TYPE OF OPERATION.
