Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a)Building 3000 - on or about March 13, 2009 - employees were exposed to a hazard while installing wood trusses. No diagonal bracing was installed to prevent these trusses from collapsing. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT INCLUDE FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH IN THE BUILDING COMPONENT SAFETY INFORMATION (BCSI) GUIDE, TRUSS INSTALLATION & TEMPORARY RESTRAINT/BRACING; SECTION B-2, OUTLINING THE NECESSARY BRACING PROCEDURES FOR THESE TRUSSES.
