Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to explosion hazards and impact from materials: Dry Room: Employees working at the manual filling station were exposed to explosion hazards from batteries venting inside the filling station. On August 13, 2009, an explosion occurred inside manual filling station injuring two employees. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct the hazard are 1) install explosion venting so that overpressure is vented to a safe location away from employees or 2) design the manual filling station enclosure to withstand the maximum amount of overpressure inside the station.sure
