Condition:Employees were exposed to explosion, deflagration and other fire
hazards from an
aluminum sanding operation with a wet-type dust collection system.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to abate this
hazard is to relocate the dry-type dust
collection systems outside the building. Perform a process hazard analysis
and assessment of both the dry-type
collection system and the wet-type collection system.  Establish a
certification program, verifying the deign,
installation, operation and maintenance of aluminum dust collection system
met all applicable standards
including, but not limited to NFPA 484.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training certification, etc.)
is required for this item.
