Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: On or about June 24, 2008, and times prior thereto, employee(s) working near conveyor belt, in east side of plant, were exposed to being caught-in/crushed by moving parts because emergency stop devices were inoperable. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to abate this hazard is to repair emergency stop cord and ensure operable emergency stop devices are located at all unguarded points along conveyor in accordance with ANSI B.20.1-2003, Section 5.11.2.
