Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970; The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to being struck by a Genie aerial lift: a) On or about June 12, 2008, employees were exposed to struck by hazards from a Genie aerial lift which was be moved in a direction which had several blind spots for the operator, no spotter was used during this move. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to follow the manufactures operating procedures or ensure that a spotter is used while the vehicle is moving: Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
