Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Heath Act of 1970; the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards which were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to caught-in hazards: a) On or about August 11, 2009 and at times prior, employees were exposed to caught-in hazards while operating a wood chipper without adequate safety procedures. A feasible method of abatement could be to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
