Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees disassembling semi-trailers and semi-trailer components were exposed to a struck-by hazard: On or before 06/06/2008, at 13060 and 13480 Cairo Lane, in Opa Locka, Florida, employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck-by semi-trailer parts when disassembling semi- trailers and components. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to: 1. Ensure that all semi-trailers are properly secured before disassembly. 2. Develop and implement specific procedures for employees to follow on how to properly disassemble semi-trailers in a safe manner. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
