Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing injuries: On or about 06/24/2008, at Galleria Fort Lauderdale, 2614 East Sunrise Blvd., in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a Terex Crane Stinger boom truck was in the process of lifting a wooden box and the truck mounted crane tipped over. The outriggers were not fully extended. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure that the outriggers are fully extended when materials or equipment is being lifted in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations provided in the operator's manual. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
