Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: On or about 07/24/08, the horn and the yellow caution lights of the New Holland LS 180 Skid Steer were not working. The seat cushion was also missing. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the instructions in the Operator's Manual on page 11 regarding the safety features of the equipment. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
