Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: On or about 8/8/2008, employees were working on a scaffold that was five tiers high and was not secured or guyed to a structure or building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations when exceeding the 3 to 1 ratio while erecting the scaffolding.ons
