Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of: falling while working from a scissor lift while not having his feet firmly on the floor of the basket. (a) Location - 36 Lincoln Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA: On or about, 05/05/08, an employee was exposed to falling when working from a scissor lift while not having his feet firmly on the floor of the basket. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement method to correct the hazard is to have employees stand firmly on the floor of the basket.
