North Carolina General Statute 95-0129(01) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards and were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm by being struck-by rotating chain saw: a)jobsite, employee was not holding the Stihl MS192T chain saw (6.6 lbs) by both hands while cutting trees for their removal as required by American National Standards Institute or ANSI 133.7.2.7 when chain saws weigh less the 15 pounds. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to include correct handling of chain saws as outlined within ANSI 133 in arborist training.
